I was propelled into this race when I became the victim of a corrupt politician.

It was after my experience that I realized that the Republican Representation Kentucky has in Washington, D.C. is part of the Doctrine of Deceit and Corruption from which our communities are currently reeling.

Ed Whitfield, KY-01's current representative, is no exception. He consistently votes for his own financial interests, has only introduced benign legislation in 13 years as Representative (such as a ban on eating horse meat) and consistently opposes SCHIP which allows health care benefits for poor children!

I refuse to continue to allow a powerful few to bully me and the First Congressional District. We need someone who is not afraid to stand up for the rights of their constituents - not another puppet of the rich and power hungry.

I will be a TRUE Representative for the people of Kentucky's First District! Not a No-Show like "Exxon Eddie Whitfield".

Let Crystal know that I finally watched all the youtube videos and finally can say I know enough to vote for you. I couldn't before because all I knew was you were the anti-Ed, which is good but says nothing of you. But after watching some and reading up, I can support your ticket.

Congratulations on winning/earning support from the national Dems.

I urge Kentuckians in the 1st district to vote for a candidate who understands the need for health care reform. The other day I spoke with a school teacher earning $49000 a year. His employer, the school district, pays towards his own health care coverage, but he has a wife and two children. His family plan costs him $1100 per month! I didn't think it could be true, but another teacher confirmed such high rates.
We are now paying 20 to 30 cents of every health care dollar to cover the administrative costs (salaries, paperwork) of insurers who are NOT providers of care.
Heather, when you arrive in Washington. I hope you will join our Louisville representative, John Yarmuth, and sign on as a co-sponsor of HR 676, the "single payer" bill now before Congress.

By creating one large pool--sharing risk and cost--we will be able to insure everyone. We will pay for health care as we now pay for fire and police protection. Taxpayers will unite to self-insure,providing coverage for all medically necessary treatment, No denials, no deductibles, no recisions, no donut hole for prescriptions, no panicked seniors, no medical bankruptcies, no huge profits for CEOs. The economists tell us that only a single payer plan will save us billions, and allow us to control costs going forward.
Learn more at the web site of Physicians for a National Health Program (pnhp.org). Read the bill HR 676 at thomas.gov.
We can be a better people. We can take care of each other.
Akk the best.
